STC Online Communications Competition 2001

Mark your calendar for the 2001 STC Boston/NNE Chapters Online Communications Competition! This year, the competition will be held on Saturday, November 10, at Compaq Computer Corporation in Nashua, NH. This event brings together the best online work in the region and the professionals who are working in the field. As an entrant, it's a great way to get feedback on your projects. As a judge, it's a great way to find out what others are doing in this area and network with your peers. Best of all, you can do both!

Here's how it works: Judges attend an orientation before the competition on October 24 to help make the feedback consistent across all entries. Judges looking at Web sites do so in the week before the competition. On the day of the competition, entrants set up their entries at the Compaq first thing in the morning. Judges arrive shortly afterward and spend the day evaluating the entries and meeting with other judges to reach to consensus on awards to be given. Late in the afternoon, entrants pick up their equipment. Entrants find out about awards and receive the judges' feedback by mail in the weeks following the competition. Then we all celebrate at the banquet!

Participating in the competition is rewarding for everyone involved. It's fun, too! Judges' registration information and entry forms will be made available during August. In the meantime, for more information about getting involved in the Online Communications Competition, contact Sharon Hopkins by e-mail at or give her a call at (781) 359-4843.
