The Edward Carbrey Scholarship

The Boston Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication is now accepting applications for the Edward J. Carbrey Jr. Scholarship. The scholarship, given to a deserving undergraduate student in technical communication, is a special tribute to Edward J. Carbrey, Jr., a long-time Chapter member, former Chapter Treasurer, and former STC Council member.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled full time in a recognized undergraduate technical communication program in the geographical area served by the STC Boston chapter.

  • Have completed at least four technical communication courses (at least one of which must be visual communication or media design).

The chapter selects the recipient on the basis of academic achievement and professional promise, with financial need considered if applicants are equal in other respects. The student selected for the scholarship receives an award of up to $1,000.

Completed applications must be received by February 1, 2004. The recipient of the Edward J. Carbrey, Jr., Scholarship will be announced in March 2004.
