Creating Interactive PDFs

The Boston and Northern New England STC chapters are proud to present world-renowned expert Shlomo Perets from MicroType, Israel as the guest speaker at our joint meeting on Monday, November 12, 2001. Mr. Perets will provide a demonstration of PDF problems, pitfalls, and deficiencies based on extensive research and analysis of several hundred PDF files, using various authoring tools. He will discuss several aspects of preparing PDF material, including interactivity, display, print quality, find/search functionality, and bookmarks and links. He will provide testing guidelines. Mr. Perets will also present a brief review of some outstanding PDF projects:

Shlomo Perets founded MicroType, Israel in 1993. Mr. Perets specializes in training technical communicators to get the most out of FrameMaker and Acrobat and the combination of these tools. Mr. Perets has focused primarily on developing online documentation applications. He is the developer of the FrameMaker-to-Acrobat Advanced Techniques course and SP TimeSavers & Bookmark Controller. Mr. Perets contributes to PlanetPDF and other Acrobat and FrameMaker forums and regularly presents at the FrameUsers and PDF Conferences.
